When Your Nervous System
Won’t Stand Down

Anxiety shows up differently for everyone. For some people it’s constant worry that never fully quiets, a background hum that follows them through the day. For others it’s avoidance that gradually narrows their world, or panic that arrives without obvious cause. Sometimes it’s dread woven into situations most people move through without a second thought. The patterns driving it are identifiable, and the experience responds to treatment. Our clinicians work from models that address how anxiety actually functions, building skills to change the underlying cycle rather than manage symptoms moment to moment.

Breaking the Cycle
That Demands Certainty

OCD operates as a cycle. An intrusive thought or image triggers significant distress, and a compulsion brings temporary relief, which teaches the brain that relief requires the compulsion. Exposure and Response Prevention interrupts that cycle directly. ERP is the most rigorously studied treatment for OCD, producing lasting change in a way that reassurance-seeking and avoidance never do. Intrusive thoughts, no matter how disturbing their content, are a feature of how OCD works. Our clinicians are trained in ERP and understand the full range of OCD presentations, including harm, contamination, relationship, and religious subtypes.

When Functioning Feels
Like the Whole Goal

Depression often looks like depletion. The absence of energy, motivation, or interest in things that used to matter. It can show up as persistent sadness, but just as often it arrives as numbness, irritability, or a flatness that’s hard to name to someone who hasn’t experienced it. Our clinicians work with the full range of depressive presentations, including major depression, persistent depressive disorder, and depression that coexists with anxiety or trauma. Treatment is structured and specific, targeting the thought patterns and behavioral withdrawal that keep depression in place, rather than offering general coping strategies that rarely hold.

Processing What
the Body Still Holds

Trauma encompasses far more than single catastrophic events. It includes the accumulated weight of chronic stress, relational harm, adverse childhood experiences, and wounds that resist easy naming. What most trauma presentations share is a nervous system that hasn’t been able to fully process what happened, one that continues responding to present-day situations as though the threat remains active. EMDR was developed specifically to address this by working with the brain’s memory processing system, rather than requiring extensive verbal analysis of the experience. Our clinicians are trained in EMDR for PTSD, complex trauma, and the full range of trauma presentations.

The Patterns That Keep
Playing on Repeat

Relationship distress rarely comes from a single incident. It builds from accumulated patterns: conflict cycles that never fully resolve, growing distance that neither person knows how to close, communication that covers surface issues while the actual sources of disconnection stay carefully avoided. Our clinicians use the Gottman Method to identify the specific dynamics keeping partners stuck and build concrete repair skills. We work with couples navigating recurring conflict, emotional distance, rebuilding trust after a breach, and life transitions that have strained what was working before.

Grief & Loss
Understanding the Condition

Carrying Loss That
Doesn’t Follow a Timeline

Grief doesn’t resolve on a predictable schedule, and it extends well beyond the death of someone central to your life. It surrounds job loss, the end of a relationship, a diagnosis, an identity that no longer fits, and the life you thought you would have. The experience is as individual as the loss itself. Some people feel the weight intensely and immediately; others find it arrives in waves or catches them off guard months later. Our clinicians use EMDR and narrative approaches to help people process grief that has become stuck, including the complicated grief that follows ambiguous or traumatic loss.
